This website collects only minimal data necessary to operate and improve the site:

  • Analytics data — page views, approximate geographic region, browser type, referral source (via Matomo, self-hosted — see section 3)
  • Contact form data — name, email address, and message content when you submit a contact request

We do not collect credit card data, passwords, or any sensitive personal information on this website. Account and billing data for 8BitForge is managed separately on 8bitforge.com.

3. Analytics — Matomo

We use Matomo (formerly Piwik), a self-hosted, open-source analytics platform. This means:

  • Analytics data stays on our own server — it is never sent to third parties
  • IP addresses are anonymized before storage
  • No cross-site tracking
  • Data is processed server-side only (no JavaScript tracking)

Because IP anonymization is applied and no cookies are used for analytics, this processing is conducted without requiring prior consent under French and EU law.

4. Contact Form Data

When you submit a message via the contact form, your name, email address, and message are sent to us by email. This data is used solely to respond to your inquiry and is not shared with any third party. We retain this data for as long as necessary to handle your request.

5. Third-Party Services

This website may load resources from the following third-party services:

  • Stripe Climate — badge displayed in the footer (iframe from climate.stripe.com). Stripe may collect basic connection data per their Privacy Policy.
  • Google Fonts — if applicable, loaded from fonts.googleapis.com

This website does not use cookies for analytics or marketing. Only technically necessary cookies (e.g., session preferences) may be set, which do not require consent under applicable law.
